A Reverie in Dhaka

The art exhibit Reverie, hosted at The Drik Gallery was geared towards showcasing the talent and individuality beheld in the newer generation of upcoming artists. Amateur artists, largely high school students, proudly displayed their artwork for sale at the three day event held from the 18th to 20th August. Sunnydalians made up a hefty eleven of the forty-six emerging artists featured at the exhibit, their creations at par with that of the other artists.

Their integrity, expression and artistry were explicitly portrayed on the canvases and papers, through the multiple mediums and among the myriad of vibrant colours. The hard work and passion behind the pieces translated breathtakingly to the art

The throng of visitors on the very first day of the exhibition marked the event an immediate success. Their marvel at the mesmerizing works of art was apparent as they flitted from one painting to another with matching expressions of delight. Photographs were taken all across the room in an attempt to capture the story in the art pieces.

The exhibition was a momentous attempt in creating opportunities for artistic prodigies in the making to gain experience and recognition. But at the heart of the event the joys of art was celebrated in all shapes and forms.
